Philip is a pharmacist/epidemiologist with 20 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, health technology assessment and clinical research. He has worked in a variety of therapeutic areas including oncology, rheumatology, infectious disease, neurology, dermatology, urology, gastroenterology, haematology and cardiology.

Prior to founding Astana-based EBMrc, he was a consultant to the Kazakhstan Ministry of Health within the Health Sector Technology Transfer and Institutional Reform (World Bank) Project and was Deputy Director, Center for Life Sciences, Nazarbayev University. Prior to that, he contributed as a reviewer/manager for over 70 drug reviews at Canada’s health technology assessment agency, CADTH. He has also held research positions in several pharmaceutical companies, including Abbott, Amgen and GlycoDesign.
